As this unprecedented crisis continues to unfold, at Horizon Platforms we are doing all we can to support many of our customers who provide services to some of the essential businesses such as supermarkets, food manufacturers, warehousing and distribution, power generation and pharmaceutical production.
It is most definitely not business as usual for us. But as a team, we took the decision to keep a level of staff working in order to support urgent requests for our platforms. Working at height has its risks, but our goal is to make sure that this is done as safely as possible for our customers, especially now when there is so much pressure on the health service. We endeavor to keep our machinery in tip-top condition so that our customers can perform work safely and we can get it out to them quickly.
Here are some examples of why our team feel we must stay open for business as long as possible.
The situation at Horizon Platforms at the moment
Exempt from Closure
Plant & Hire Tool businesses are exempt from closure at the present time. The government updated their guidance on business closures on the 26th March.
The number of staff within the business has been reduced to cope with current demand for powered access. The team is highly experienced and will do all they can to assist.
Social Distancing 2m
All staff that can’t work from home have been instructed to maintain a safe distance from each other whilst working.
Hygiene and Hand washing
As per government guidelines, our team are making sure they are washing hands or using anti-bacterial gel whenever they can. We have also issued disposable gloves for the team to use.
All platforms returning from hire are cleaned using soap and then power washed. This will continue, with our team taking even more care to reduce the risk of contamination.
All staff who can work from home, are now working from home. It wasn’t easy, but with sleeves rolled up and some one to one tech lessons, we did it. We’re in contact daily and each week are getting together as a whole business!
