Cherry pickers raise the roof at Download Festival

Horizon cherry pickers rocking it up at the Download Festival

I’ve never been to the famous Download Festival at Donington Park, but I’m proud to say that some of our cherry pickers made their debut there this year!

Download – the UK’s increasingly popular five-day rock festival – took place over a long June weekend with well-known headliners, Slipknot, Muse and Kiss taking to the stage on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

Donington Park has a long history of hosting rock music events, hosting the Monsters of Rock festival throughout the eighties and nineties. In 2003, the Download Festival was born, with an extra dimension of the online world: the website featured a forum and the tickets included a code that would give fans access to MP3 downloads from the artists performing.

New client, Sudlows, was just one of the many companies working behind the scenes at the festival this year to ensure everything went to plan. The Manchester-based data centre design and build specialists hired two of Horizon’s 45ft boom lifts to help set up the wireless communications around the site.

Cherry pickers are the ideal piece of equipment to allow people to work at height safely.
